Unofficial supporters’ site

Following the Spartans, from the terraces

History, the Maltese Premier League explained, and an honest guide to matchdays in Ħamrun — written by supporters, not by the club.

This is an independent site written by supporters, for supporters. It is not run by Ħamrun Spartans F.C., and nothing here should be taken as an official club statement — for that, go to the club's own channels.

What we do instead is the stuff fan sites are good at: explaining how Maltese football actually works to people who did not grow up with it, keeping a readable record of the club's history, and telling you what a matchday in Ħamrun is genuinely like before you turn up.

  • A short history of the club

Founded 1907, and one of the most decorated names in Maltese football — the story in about ten minutes.

  • The Maltese Premier League explained

How the league is structured, why the format keeps changing, and what European qualification looks like from Malta.

  • Matchday guide

Getting to the ground, what to expect inside it, and the etiquette nobody writes down.

  • A glossary for newcomers

The clubs, the competitions and the vocabulary, translated for people arriving from elsewhere.

Why a fan site for a Maltese club

Maltese football is covered thinly in English. If you have just moved to the island, married into a Ħamrun family, or picked the club up through a video game and got curious, you will find plenty of results tables and almost nothing that explains what any of it means.

That gap is the whole reason this site exists. It is not trying to break news — it cannot, and the club does that better anyway. It is trying to be the page you send someone when they ask why a league of a few hundred thousand people produces the noise that it does.
