    Latest: Dr. David Farrugia Sacco is Hamrun Spartans new president.Durin a rally held on the 13th of February, he explanied the situation of the club and what can e done in the future. At the end of the rally Stefan Sultana was presented by the committee,players and supporters by certificates and mementos for his success, being the most player to score in the Premier Division, with 174 goals. This was dine against Marsaxlokk, where Hamrun won 3-1.

    A new president is set to take the place left by Edgar Bonnnici Cachia few weeks ago. Dr. David Farrugia Sacco will take the presidency. A general meeting will be held soon.

    Losing to Pieta, Hamrun will now be playing in the relegation pool.

    After just two months at the helm of Hamrun Spartans,president Edgar Bonnici Cachia resigned from his position, saying that it was due of some family reasons and other problems with the committee.

    Sunday 9th December during the club's general meeting, Edgar Cachia Bonnici was named as Hamrun Spartans new president. The other positions are occupied by Jesmond Mangion as a senior vice- president, Stephen Micallef as vice-president, Salvu Baldacchino as secretary, Emanuel Fenech as treasurer and Antoine Attard as administrator.

    Thursday 28th November a general meeting was held after getting permission from the MFA authorities. A temporary committee was formed, this was due of the resignation of the previous committee which was asked to resign. Tedesco & Co resigned en-bloc. Edgar Bonnici Cachia, a former vice-president of Hamrun Spartans, later resinging from his position, will be the new Spartans president. The other members are Jesmond Mangion, Antoine Attard, Saviour Baldacchino and Emmanuel Fenech. Paul Galea being the kit manager while Salvinu Frendo taking care of the ground. Another extraordinary general meeting will be held next week in order to confirm the new committee with all ten members. During the general meeting new president Bonnici Cachia mentined Marsovin, being one of Hamrun's sponsors together with others.

    Tuesday 26 th November the Hamrun Spartans committee resigned from their position. A meeting with the club members will be called later on and even introduce the new committee.

    On Thursday 17 th October the Hamrun Spartans committee together with some Libyan authorities had an opening day at the Hamrun Grounds. This will help Hamrun to improve the stadium. The President of Malta Guido De Marco opened this exhibition, which will end on Sunday 20th October.

    A Nigerian player has been training with the club for the last weeks.

    Hamrun Spartans will be facing Msida St. Joseph for the first leg of the Trophy.

    Former Hamrun striker Nikolai Kirilov rejoined Hamrun Spartans from Balzan and made his debut against Sliema.

    Congolese goalkeeper Daniel Dengaky may be offered a trial with Benfica.

    Wayne Attard was injured against Mosta and perhaps will be missing the match against Valletta. He had to be substituted by Geatan Spiteri at the end of the first half.

    Hamrun's captain Charlo Magro will be out of action for about 2 weeks after a hamstring injury against Floriana. Magro will be missing the match against Mosta but hopefully returns against Valletta.

    Hamrun's first defeat in friendly matches was against Msida. Hamrun were not that concetrated and most of the possession was favour to Msida trough out the match. Both goals were scored in the second half.

    3 goals by youngster Mauro Brincat and another scored by Gareth Bartolo, lead the way to an easy win against Ghajnsielem, the final result being 4-1. Former Spartans player Sinisa Radak played for Ghajnsielem in this match.

    Hamrun won another friendly match against Qormi played at the Victor Tedesco stadium. Hamrun won 3-1, the three goals being all scored in the second half by substitute Gaetan Spiteri.

    Hamrun played another friendly match against Naxxar Lions. Hamrun won this match 1-0, the only goal being scored by Roderick Bajada in the second half.

    The two Italian players did not impress enough Marinov and they will be going back to Italy.

    Two Italians are on trail with the Spartans, one of them plays in midfield or attack and the other plays as goalkeeper.

    Ike, a Tunisian player is on trial with Hamrun Spartans and so far has impressed the coach. He also took part in two friendly matches played against St.Patricks and Senglea, Hamrun won both matches 3-0 and 1-0 respectively. Ike scored the second goal against St. Patricks.

    The players which were on loan last year have all returned to Hamrun. The players are Wayne Attard and Ivan Casha from Marsa, Adrian Farrugia and Nicholas Fasanelli from Naxxar while Gareth Bartolo and Neville Galea returned from Qormi and Gozo respectively. Other players left Hamrun to join other teams. Sandro Gambin back to Naxxar and later loaned to Marsa, Joseph Farrugia and Stefan Zahra back to Sliema Wanderers the first being loaned to Marsaxlokk for the next season. Sinisa Radak was not in Hamrun's plan for next season and left the club.

    Sandro Gambin which last season was on loan for one year with Hamrun Spartans will be joining Marsa from Naxxar on loan.

    Hamrun Spartans will play Floriana in the opening match of the 2002/03 season. The following are the games to be played in order of date.

    Vice president Edgar Bonnici resigns from his position.

    A rally held at Hamrun Spartans football club the main speaker; Victor Tedesco announced that the Argentenian Maltese Cesar Paiber will be staying at the club for next season. He also confirmed that Hamrun's young trio Roderick Bajada, Mauro Brincat and Kevin Borg are all going to be playing for Hamrun next season. The president also said that the Hamrun players are only one month backwards from their payments. Other speakers were vice president Edgar Cachia and Eddie Zammit Cordina.
